About Candi Jones

My name is Candi! I’ve been working as an educator for students in grade levels K-12 since year 2006. I started my career right outside of New Orleans in St. Charles Parish public school district. Since returning to Michigan, I have obtained a Master’s Degree in Principle Leadership through Western Michigan University year 2014. When I learned the Special Education classroom was my niche mixed with the perfect amount of challenge together with the right portion of advocating, I reached for an Endorsement in Cognitive Impairments through Grand Valley State University during the summer of 2018. While spending the majority of my time teaching within the Resource Room I was encouraged by my mentor to pursue a degree in Learning Disabilities, so I took the course EDS 636 Diagnostic and Interpretive Procedures: Review of evaluative instruments used for identification and programming for exceptional persons, and I look forward to completing this degree in the future. Currently I instruct a 6th Grade Self-Contained virtual classroom and have done so for the past two years. First, I began my online career as a substitute teacher through Mona Shores Public Schools, and today I am committed to growing my students at Michigan Virtual Charter Academy. Virtual work is providing a space to obtain balance between my home and work life.#iteachwhatsyoursuperpower
