About Candice Dimock

I am a highly driven individual with a background in health sciences, healthcare documentation, and medical office administration. I seek an administrative or clerical position where I can expand my skillset and assist the facility in providing high-quality patient care. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, gardening, camping, exercising, and being outdoors. By nature, I am an optimistic, friendly, and socially contentious individual who enjoys interacting with people. I am incredibly organized and detail-oriented, revelling in a good 'To-Do List'! My most significant assets are my attention to detail, ability to learn new skills quickly, and positive attitude. I have strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Throughout my academic career, I authored numerous academic papers and reports. Additionally, I gave multiple oral presentations. I also collaborated with my peers and colleagues on projects and worked with an extensive research group with team members in multiple provinces. Further, my work as a teaching assistant (TA) required me to work collaboratively with my fellow TAs to organize and grade tests and assignments. I also hosted office hours for this role, where I met with students to address their questions and concerns. As a result, I am comfortable communicating via email, in person, and over the telephone. Before my undergraduate degree, I worked in the restaurant industry as a server and then as a chef for several years. I switched career paths after being involved in a pedestrian versus car motor vehicle accident that resulted in numerous musculoskeletal injuries. I am comfortable utilizing various computer operating systems, including Windows 11 and Mac Operating Systems. I am also a certified Microsoft Office Specialist. Additionally, I use InScribe software, Word, Sync, WebEx, Skype, and Adobe daily to complete my current job as a medical transcriptionist. Organization and prioritization are paramount to my personal and professional life. For example, as a teaching assistant and research assistant, I developed organizational skills by managing class calendars online, keeping track of assignment due dates, responding to student emails, booking meetings, and collecting and managing data relating to student grades and research articles.
