About Candy Kinser

Candy, a former ICU nurse, entered geriatric care seventeen years ago. She became board certified in hospice and palliative care. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Utah with the Dean’s Award for the Outstanding Baccalaureate Student. Candy has completed the Univ. of Utah’s Geriatric Nursing Leadership program. She previously attended Rose State Nursing School in Oklahoma. She was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau, International Honor Society of Nursing. She has served as a curriculum reviewer for the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association, and is listed in the “Core Curriculum for the Generalist Hospice and Palliative Nurse,” as well as the “Study Guide for the Generalist Hospice and Palliative Nurse.” She is the co-founder of a successful hospice. She was nominated for the Cambridge Who’s Who Among Executive and Professional Women. Candy’s passion for hospice is evident in her series entitled, “Confessions of a Hospice Nurse” published by the Utah Nurses Association. She is also the Author of the book "Into the Arms of the Angels." Her popular lectures regarding end-of-life experiences are sought after by varied audiences, from small community and church groups, to larger settings at LDS Hospital, Brigham Young University, the University of Utah, the Utah Nurse’s Association, the Utah Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, and the Utah Association of Healthcare Auxiliaries/Volunteers.
