Background

About Caprice S.

I’m a passionate and mission-driven sociology graduate from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, with a minor in African American Studies and certificates in Social Equity & Diversity and Indigenous Studies. Currently, I serve as a Life Skills Coordinator at HeadsUp Fox Cities, where I support young adults transitioning out of the child welfare system—helping them gain the skills, confidence, and resources to thrive on their own. My work is grounded in social justice, educational equity, and community well-being. I bring hands-on experience in youth mentorship, advocacy, and program development. I’ve led and contributed to initiatives focused on climate anxiety, racial justice, and community resilience—presenting research at academic conferences and helping develop solutions for marginalized communities. As a proud first-generation college graduate, I understand the transformative power of education and community. I bring that lived experience and insight into every space I enter—whether I’m mentoring youth, leading a workshop, or collaborating across teams. With a strong background in leadership, research, and public speaking, I’m committed to creating inclusive, healing-centered spaces where people can thrive. I’m eager to connect with others passionate about advocacy, sustainability, and building more just and joyful communities. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, birding, and spending time in the garden. I hope to one day start a sustainable organic vegetable farm that brings people together and nourishes both body and spirit.
