About Cara e Ferro

Cara Ferro is a young dramatic soprano with a bachelor's degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Delaware, and is currently working toward her master's degree at the same institution. At the University of Delaware, Cara has ceased every opportunity offered to her including numerous roles with UD Opera Theatre, a cappella solos, chamber performances in peer's recitals, and several leadership opportunities. Some credits include Mary Warren in The Crucible, Konstanze in Die Entführung aus dem Serail and Step-Mother in The Juniper Tree. She is currently working on the role of Fiordiligi in Cosi fan tutte and in the summer will sing Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflöte with the Franco-American Vocal Academy. Professionally, Cara recently sung in the chorus of OperaDelaware’s Amleto, which was an East Coast Premiere. She also participated in the chorus of Die Zauberflöte with the Master Player’s Concert series under the hand of Maestro Martin Katz. As a solo singer, she has won numerous NATS competitions and recently was awarded the F. Warren James Memorial award, which granted her the opportunity to sing the National Anthem at UD’s 2016 commencement ceremony. She has served as President of her elite award-winning a cappella group, The MelUDees as well as public relations chair for that same group and her fraternity Sigma Alpha Iota. Currently, as a graduate student. Cara serves as house manager for music department events as well as resident English, Italian and German diction teacher for undergraduate students. She also teaches lessons to music minors and Bachelor of Arts students in addition to Delaware Community Music School participants.
