About Cara Frank

Cara Frank has been a practitioner and teacher of Acupuncture and Chinese herbology for over 32 years. She is a popular lecturer, known especially for her clear and humorous teaching style. Cara is 1983 graduate of The New England School of Acupuncture. Her herbal training was with Ted Kaptchuk, Simon Mills and at the Xi Yuan Hospital in Beijing, China. It was in China, that her love affair with Chinese herbs took root, and still flourishes. In 1991, she founded the China Herb Company, which was the first mail order compounding Chinese herbal dispensary in the United States. Cara has developed a line of her own herbal formulas, including formulas for cancer support and pediatric formulas under the brand name “Six Fishes Chinese Herbs.” Cara has taught Chinese Herbology since 1996. From 2003 to 2011 she was the director of the department of Chinese herbology at Tai Sophia Institute. She was the Director of the Department of Chinese Herbology at the Won Institute of Graduate Studies in Glenside, PA. Cara created all of the course content and was the primary instructor. Using classical texts in concert with the latest technology, she developed a website for the class with photographs, podcasts, handouts, class blogs and wiki’s to enhance the students learning experience. Her book "TCM Case Studies: Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat Disorders" from Peoples Medical Publishing House was published in 2015. Cara lives with her husband and children in Center City where she maintains a full acupuncture and Chinese Medicine practice Specialties: Chinese Herbology, Allergies, EENT disorders, musculao-skeletal disorders, digestive problems, headaches, pediatric complaints, PMS, menopause, hormonal imbalance, infertility and side effects of cancer treatments.
