Cara manages a large fleet of over 450 vehicles for Shenandoah Telecommunications Company (Shentel) which was founded in 1902, in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. In the spring of 2017, Cara began to work with Altec to find a solution to the unnecessary idle time and fuel consumption of their diesel bucket trucks. Cara raises money each year for the American Red Cross Blood Service and is now a donor for life after reaching a goal of 6 gallons. She spent summers in Minnesota on her grandparent’s dairy farm, lifeguarding for the city pools in Northern Virginia, a summer on the Blue Ridge Parkway working for the Youth Conservation Corps, and lives on a small farmette in Virginia.
