About Cara Soffer

As General Counsel and Head of HR for XWELL, I serve as Board and Corporate Secretary and lead the legal and HR functions for a high-growth public global health and wellness company. This is my second time standing up and scaling a company's in-house legal function through development of robust legal process optimization that streamlines spending and prioritizes new business development. I am most proud of the vanishingly low turnover in departments under my leadership. Prior to my GC roles, I worked at a multinational law firm and an industry-leading accounting firm. At work, I am results-driven, agile and operationally-focused, combining visionary strategic leadership with tactical know-how to great effect. I pride myself on being a Swiss Army knife – able to effectively prioritize a high-volume of diverse matters. Board members and executive teams rely on me for transition planning, executive succession, executive compensation, board education and governance, crisis management and communications, complex M&A strategy, strategic planning and organizational redesign. My key competencies include navigating complex global legal landscapes, securing wins in high-stakes negotiations, communicating effectively with cross-functional stakeholders and consistently helping those around me achieve more, even in resource-scarce environments. I leverage my legal expertise, business acumen and strategic decision-making to coach and lead my teams through intense periods of rapidly scaling global growth while managing multiple crises.
