About Carean Oh

Carean Oh is the co-founder of Writers Studio, with more than 20 years of experience as an educator. Her illustrious career thus far has enabled her to create a highly targeted and effective curriculum that focuses on building a child’s love for the written word and attaining absolute mastery of the language. Carean graduated from a university in the United Kingdom with a Masters of Creative Writing, and has shared her perspectives and know-how with myriad publications, including ones from the travel and hospitality industries, as well as local media such as CNA (CHANNELNEWSASIA), CNA Talking Point, CNA 93.8Fm, The Straits Times, Honeykidsasia.com, Kiasu Parents, The Sanatan Chronicles, Creatives at Work and so on. Carean is a firm believer in developing a child’s future-readiness - holistic growth that extends beyond the classroom. While serving leadership positions in several institutions, she spearheaded programs and initiatives that allowed students to sharpen and apply their literary skills. Her unbridled passion earned her accolades and cemented her position as a subject expert in the education industry, all of which fuelled her determination to set up Writers Studio - a creative writing school that aims to teach students how to powerfully wield the pen. Most recently, she has identified the need to strengthen children’s digital literacy skills, believing that our young digital natives need guidance to navigate our increasingly tech-ruled world to maintain mental well-being in the cyber sphere. Carean participates actively in charity work and has sponsored a number of initiatives ranging from TTKGS music & writing events, Craftpreneurs of SG, MINDS RSPID-NTU projects, Babes Pregnancy Crisis Support campaigns and Singapore Book Council projects. She also volunteered at the Rotary Family Service Centre and Action for Aids. She has also published 2 books to help children attain better scores in their creative writing and PSLE Oral. Carean is looking towards collaborations with charities that support children who are visually impaired.
