About Caresa Boyd

Caresa Boyd is an edutainer from Sacramento, California. She has been performing since she was two years old. After performing as Helena in William Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream in high school she decided to pursue her career in acting. Caresa studied Theatre Arts at Bennett college for women in Greensboro, North Carolina. While in college she became a member of the Bennett Players acting troupe. Impressed by one of her performances she was handpicked along with seven other students by her College to perform in the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown, South Africa. After graduating from college Caresa moved back to Sacramento and has been working in the school system for over ten years offering after-school programs and classes for acting, poetry, comedy, and visual artist. During this time she also pursued her comedy career performing in stand up comedy shows, talent competition, and improvisational theatre. Caresa has worked in collaboration with such programs as a S.A.Y.S ( Sacramento Area Youth speaks) and The Sacramento Theater Company. She has also performed with the Sactown players under Carrie Bray. In education she has performed such roles as a teacher, substitute teacher, and paraeducator. From her experiences she has been able to create fun and educational opportunities for students of all ages. Caresa is currently working at Highland Community Charter and Technical school as a level 2 ESL teacher teaching English as a second language to adult students. Caresa uses entertainment to educate and engage her students.Using improvisation and theatre to keep her students engaged and learning and loving to learn. Her goal is to continue to educate, offer positive outlets, and social emotional support for students of Sacramento to thrive and achieve their goals.
