About Carey Toane

My approach to librarianship draws on my prior experience as a business librarian, marketing journalist, copywriter, and literacy volunteer. I am inspired by the ways in which the work we do can bring positive change to the world. I've worked in the business libraries at two major research universities in Ontario, and have been involved with professional associations in staff and volunteer capacities. I've taught MBAs and ESL students, hosted a fiction and poetry reading series, and co-founded a poetry project that operates through retooled vending machines. I am as happy nose-deep in a book as I am speaking in front of a group of 100+. I pride myself in bringing a creative approach to my librarianship practice. I am always learning. Specialties: market intelligence, instructional design, media and emerging technologies, project conceptualization and management, communications and editing.
