About Carl Bilodeau

As a co-owner of Renshinkai, LLC I oversee the financial aspect of the business including accounts receivable and accounts payable, scheduling classes, and tracking student progress. As a Renshinkai instructor I lead the practice of Jiyushin-Ryu Aikibudo, a modern Japanese martial art with roots in Aikido and Judo. In 16+ years at the University of Phoenix I worked my way up from entry level technical support to project management to reporting analyst. Along the way I worked in Institutional Research and Effectiveness, Programmatic Assessment, Instructional Assessment, Academic Tutoring, and Learning Content Services. As a project manager in Academic Tutoring, I head up the research and assessment of various educational materials including web based applications, software, media, and other course materials with a focus on effectiveness and ROI. I also assist tutors with payroll, scheduling, and technical issues with the various tools used in synchronous and asynchronous tutoring. The Programmatic Assessment and Instructional Assessment positions were similar in that they both involved the quantitative and qualitative research and evaluation of curriculum, educational software, and teaching methodologies to ensure the quality and effectiveness of content and delivery methods and the alignment with course and program goals and objectives and reporting our findings to internal customers and accrediting bodies like the Higher Learning Commission. As a member of the Institutional Research and Effectiveness department I assisted with a variety of reports concerning financial aid distribution, IPEDS reports for the National Center for Education Statistics, Department of Education and State compliance reports, and analysis of company performance for executive management. As a Technical Support specialist I assisted students with a variety of technical issues ensure course content and educational tools were accessible and functioning properly.
