About Carl Derving

My finance career spans over 20 years, having started as an apprentice back in 2002 after leaving college. Since then, I have moved through the ranks, working in private practice and industry, profit and non-profit, private and public sector, as well as small and multinational business. My enjoyment however, lies within manufacturing, especially food. No two days are ever the same.Outside of work, I am actively into my health and fitness, and enjoy attending the gym twice a day, five days a week, which I fit around my busy schedule. I am a keen long distance runner and a member of Hull Athletics Club, where I train with them twice a week, as well as competing in 10k, HM, Marathon and Ultra Marathon events.I am also a semi professional musician and play lead guitar in an original rock band, Shadowslave, which I formed in May 2024 with the guys from my previous band. We regularly do gigs around Yorkshire and are due to release our debut album, Devolution, which will be available to listen to on the main streaming platforms late 2026. Our first single and music video is due for release on May 1st 2026.
