About Carl Grilo

My current title at TMLP is an ERP Network Analyst. This position grants me a great opportunity to help others as well as expand my knowledge of information technology daily. In addition to my role as an analyst I utilized my education background in systems engineering to act as the systems architect on capital projects for the MIS, DAHS, and TD-SCADA departments. My typical daily activities include design, deployment, maintenance, analytics, and administration of a wide variety of information technology computers, networks, services and applications including: a HYCU Backup Cluster, a multi‐site Nutanix On‐Premise Cloud Datacenter, Highly Available frontend/backend Cogsdale Great Plains ERP system, Wireless Wi‐Fi networks, Highly Available routing/switching networks, and Highly Available terminal services. When working with these systems I am responsible for the research and development of new solutions, administration, and ongoing maintenance. As an administrator I am responsible for user access, determine backup policies and creating security policies. When performing maintenance I implement software updates, analyze performance and usage, make adjustments to system configurations, modify policies, and adapt security postures accordingly. When performing ERP activities my responsibilities include basic end user support, user administration, third party integration, automated SFTP processes, and annual software maintenance. On occasions I am called to support the VoIP system. When working on the VoIP system I support the deployment of new equipment as well as maintenance and troubleshooting of the virtual servers, integrated service routers, and other related network devices. As a member of the TMLP Cyber Security committee, I provide advice to the group as well as report on the cyber security practices currently implemented in the MIS and DAHS departments including topics such as endpoint security, edge security, VPN access, and transient assets. In addition to my daily duties, I utilize organization skills to coordinate meetings, maintenance windows, track the progress of jobs and completion of related tasks by established end dates. I diligently create and maintain documentation such as system diagrams, access control lists, maintenance procedures and deployment guides.
