About Carl Safi

What is my background?I have around 15 years experience in biorefinery, circularity and value creation from biomass. I have coordinated the implementation and execution of multiple projects in the past and I currently use this valuable experience to facilitate project execution, generating new ideas and the build up of new projects. Moreover, I advise startups on a regular basis, and scout/screen for new startups that have game-changing ideas. I always enjoyed networking and gathering stakeholders to build new high-impact research projects that would eventually make a difference in the market and on social level.What is my mission?As a Business Development Manager, my mission is to improve and maintain the client portfolio of the department, by leveraging my scientific experience and my entrepreneurial skills. I gather innovative ideas and build new research projects with a special focus on circularity and value creation from biomass. Therefore, I am intensively in close contact with Investors, international financial institutions, corporates, SMEs and public organisations to discuss strategies and potential collaborations.What is my ambition?The ambition that drives me the most is to transform innovative ideas into reality so that everyone can benefit from their positive impact.
