Carl Schnurr is a seasoned game industry creative leader who is actively looking for his next role. He spent ten years as the SVP of Game Design for Activision, where he championed, founded, and led numerous groups including Central Design, Central User Research, and Game Analytics while leading an essential 250+ person centralized shared resources team that supported multiple billion dollar franchises: Call of Duty, Guitar Hero, Skylanders, and Destiny. Since leaving Activision, Carl has supported numerous publishers and game teams as a consultant, taught game design and production @USC School of Cinematic Arts, and coached/mentored creative leaders. Earlier work includes producing and designing the award-winning tactical shooters, Rainbow Six and Rogue Spear for Red Storm Entertainment and overseeing the design of Amped, Top Spin Tennis, and Links as a Design Director and GPM for Microsoft Game Studios. He has a PhD in physics from Duke University where he studied quantum optics. Prior to joining the games industry he designed shuttle astronaut protocols and wrote rpg supplements.
