About Carl Smith

My skills and experience are best utilised in work involving text in various forms. I am good at reading and understanding texts that others might find challenging. When it comes to writing, I am skilled at editing texts to effectively target the right audience – both in Swedish and English – not only because I am bilingual since birth, I also have several years of university studies and degree in linguistics and theoretical philosophy, as well as professional experience as a language consultant and technical writer. In recent years, safety in general – and fire safety and workplace health and safety in particular – have become my areas of specialisation. Alongside my primary role as a Quality Technician at AP & T, I also serve as Fire Safety Officer, Supervisor for the Automatic Fire Alarm System, and Supervisor for Flammable Goods. Additionally, I work part-time as a firefighter at the local fire service in my hometown of Tranemo. Beyond this, I have a background as a professional musician, both in the studio and on stage. My interest in music has been with me since childhood, and I spent most of my school years in a musical environment. While the interest remains, my active engagement with music is now limited to my spare time. However, I firmly believe that my creative side benefits me every day, providing balance to my often theoretical day job and occasionally demanding additional roles.
