Greetings! I’m Carl Suba, an aspiring physician currently pursuing my studies at Marian University. With a deep-rooted passion for biology, the health field, and the human experience, I’m committed to becoming a compassionate and communicative healthcare professional. My journey toward medicine is fueled not only by academic curiosity but also by a strong desire to understand people, serve them humanely, and advocate for their well-being. I began my journey in healthcare by interning at local health departments, where I saw firsthand the complex and often systemic challenges that impact community health. These experiences opened my eyes to the critical importance of equitable care and inspired me to become an advocate for accessible, compassionate healthcare. As I continued shadowing physicians, I learned that communication is one of the most powerful tools in medicine. Whether working with a team or speaking with patients, the ability to listen with empathy, respond with clarity, and build trust is just as essential as any clinical skill. These early opportunities taught me that healing begins with human connection—and that’s the kind of physician I strive to become.
