About Carl Woon

I am a Defence and Defence Industry professional specialising in training systems as well as the management and coordination of projects and teams. I am currently a Senior Consultant and Project Manager Training Systems at Systematiq. I transitioned into the commercial Defence sector in 2010 after completing a full-time career in the Australian Defence Force, gaining experience in Training Services. Over more than a 13-year period I have continued to develop my Training Systems knowledge and skills whilst working at Cubic Defence Australia, Scientific Management Associates, Elbit Systems of Australia Pty Ltd, and Systematiq. My military experience includes 22 years full-time and 6 years part-time service in the Australian Army with the Royal Australian Armoured Corps. I was employed in a range of positions which included operational environments, international peacekeeping as well as positions as an instructor at the Royal Military College - Duntroon and the School of Armour, and appointment as Sergeant Major of a Combat Team from 2007 - 2008. My commercial Defence sector experience includes supporting the conduct of Australian Army mission-specific training; Land 200 Program Command, Control and Communication Systems training design, development, and delivery; and most recently consultancy work with the Australian Defence Force. I apply my experience in training systems, operations management, team leadership, and project management to ensure projects are delivered in accordance with client requirements, and the delivery of high-quality, effective training solutions and artefacts that meet the needs and expectations of clients and enhance the performance and capability of their teams and organisations. I value working as part of a high-performing team that draws on diverse skills and perspectives to achieve shared goals and outcomes.
