About Carla Pedrosa

Experienced Educator and Leader in International Education ‍ Embarking on my journey in education in 1994 in Portugal, I've had the privilege of witnessing the transformative power of learning. Over the years, I've evolved from a primary school teacher to a multifaceted education professional. My quest for knowledge led me to Maastricht University, where I immersed myself in the Masters Program in Arts and Culture, specializing in management and education, graduating in 2014. In 2013, I joined UWC Maastricht as a Portuguese Tutor for MYP, expanding my horizons into international education. The following year, I took on the role of Teaching Dance and creative movement for MYP students, bringing a holistic approach to their learning experience. Transitioning to a Design Teacher role in 2019 at UWC Maastricht, I embraced the dynamic intersection of creativity and education. The year 2020 marked a significant milestone as I assumed the responsibilities of Head of Year for MYP 1-3, fostering a supportive and enriching environment for students. Beyond the walls of UWC Maastricht, I've extended my expertise globally. As a Portuguese tutor for DP, I've collaborated with UWC Dilijan in Armenia and the International School Laren in the Netherlands, contributing to the internationalization of education. My passion lies in cultivating an environment where students not only gain knowledge but also develop into well-rounded individuals. I am excited about the continued journey of shaping young minds and contributing to the global landscape of education.
