Background

About Carlee Hansen

I've spent the majority of my professional career working in marketing and advertising, specializing in the education and insurance sectors. I've worked for various post-secondary institutions, ranging from small campus-based institutions to large online universities and have had the same breadth in the insurance space. Early in my career, I worked my way to a senior-level position in interactive media planning, overseeing the functionality and effectiveness of campaigns. I've been able to broaden my knowledge base with training and experience in cross-channel media placements and efforts (social media, direct mail, print, search), but my expertise lies in internet media and content. My current career includes consulting on web content, writing for SEO, and writing lifestyle and sales copy for various organizations. I've written both internal documentation and processes for a variety of technical industries, as well as public-facing documents, ranging from client updates to web materials, blogs and sales funnel emails. My most recent foray has taken me partially out of the corporate space and into public service, working as a Student Advocate and Coach for local teenagers at two different junior high schools. My work with them includes counseling, behavior modification, mentorship, tutoring and life guidance. I work with them on setting goals and on overcoming life challenges that inevitably come their way. I've written and published three books since 2014, all of which have lead me down a chasm of speaking engagements and keynote addresses. I've been able to parlay my professional experiences in leadership and mentoring into multiple consulting and training opportunities with some of Utah's largest and most renowned organizations. I'm experienced in internal and external communication. I've spent significant time brainstorming creative and media processes and making recommendations on future action in these areas. I've been able to manage people as well as projects, affording me cross-functional experience. I'm task-oriented and work quickly and accurately. I believe in work, excellence, and empathy. I stay busy and am always looking for opportunities for growth and engagement. Specialties: Written and verbal communication, media negotiation, budgeting, client and vendor relations, speaking and training, team management, mentorship, directional leadership, innovation, project management, figuring things out.
