I evaluate the workplace environment and develop safety-management policies that identify and define the safety responsibilities of all employees. This involves assessing the nature of business activities, number of employees and existing policies. To continually maintain an appropriate level of awareness, knowledge and preparedness across the organization, we coordinate training programs for employees. Although we are charged with enhancing workplace safety, some incidents might not be detected during risk assessments. We investigate such incidents, establish the causes and recommend preventive action against a recurrence. I also ensure that workplace tools and equipment meet industry standards and installed properly, as defined by OSHA. I prepare monthly reports and make presentations to senior administrators. A typical HSE report indicates day-to-day workplace inspection results and workers' response to safety incidents. My DOT compliance duties include ensuring that all state and federal motor vehicle regulatory requirements are met. The major tasks are to develop and/or maintain a driver qualification program to ensure that drivers are fully trained on hazardous material transportation and are in compliance with all regulations. l must stay up date on state and federal rules, regulations, and legislation in order to properly interpret them and ensure the company is in full compliance at all times. I also provide oversight of the driver qualification system data and review it daily for accuracy and completeness. Maintain, update, and implement driver requirements per current DOT regulations. Train dispatchers and drivers on DOT safety regulations. Keep records of compliance exceptions for audit purposes. My experience also allows me to conduct Fit Testing and Pulmonary Function Tests among other training. I have developed and maintained compliance with customers requirements and Department of Transportation audits.
