Background
About Carlos Junquera
I am the Regional Manager for NAUI Worldwide, America’s oldest and most respected dive training organization. I oversee the development and promotion of NAUI’s scuba diving education across Spain, Portugal, and Andorra, building a network of elite instructors, trainers, and course directors. As Chair of the International Advisors Committee and European International Advisor to the Board of Directors, I coordinate business development strategies, drive special projects for the Board, and for 2025, serve as Chair of the Technical Training Subcommittee. In addition to my work with NAUI, I am a Brand Ambassador for Master Liveaboards, representing one of the world’s premier liveaboard diving operators. This role allows me to connect with divers globally, inspire new adventures, and further enhance the profile of the global diving community. As a Technical Advisor for Underwater Filming at Factor Zero—a leading stunt company in film and television—I provide expertise on underwater safety, communication, marine animal behavior, and scuba training for actors and stunt performers. My portfolio includes work as a stunt double and safety diver in high-profile productions. I also serve as Regional Training Coordinator for DAN Europe, the global leader in diving safety. My responsibilities include expanding first-aid training programs and strengthening the standards of instructor training throughout the region. Known for my gritty approach to complex problems, I consistently deliver results under pressure. With over 25 years of international sales and finance experience at top-tier firms, an MBA from IESE, and advanced diving certifications, I bring a unique blend of business acumen and technical expertise to every project. I am deeply passionate about diving and rescue, committed to promoting the highest levels of safety, professionalism, and recognition for diving worldwide. My goal is to drive growth and help shape diving as a valuable, rewarding, and accessible activity for all.
