About Carly Brown

Carly is the Founder of Just Married Weddings, an Australia-wide business specialising in small weddings and elopements (also known as micro-weddings). Carly is a Civil Marriage Celebrant with 10 years’ experience, and has performed thousands of weddings over this time, from the very big to the very small. Prior to starting Just Married Weddings Carly was a lawyer practising Environmental and Property Law and working for many years with NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service / OEH and the EPA. With extensive public speaking experience and enthusiasm for her industry Carly is an enthusiastic and engaging speaker, interviewee and presenter. Carly's unique experience in the small wedding industry make her particularly attuned to the following topics: small weddings, budget weddings, sustainable weddings, elopements, destination weddings, wedding trends, same-sex marriage, marriage law, visa wedding, unlawful weddings and celebrancy. As a start-up and scale up Just Married Weddings has worked with and assisted the growth of many other female lead start-ups, giving Carly experience in small business growth, female entrepreneurial matters and women in business. Carly has gained this experience working with over 20 celebrants, multiple photographers, hair and make-up artists, florists and many other business owners. Carly is passionate about sustainability in weddings,'budget' weddings and elopements. She believes strongly in couples making choices that suit them, not trying to please others or conform to external pressures. Carly is always happy to be interviewed on these topics, or contribute to discussions on panels, podcasts or in any other format. Carly occasionally creates written content for publication as requested.
