About Carly Cox

I've worked in the 'Green Industry' my whole life. I grew up mowing yards and pushing snow with my father ever since I was big enough to hold a weed eater. I never really knew what I wanted to do when I grew up, so my freshman year at the University of Missouri I took engineering classes, hated it; transferred to the University of Missouri-Kansas City and did a year of Landscape Architecture. That wasn't quite what I had imagined it would be. Came back to MU and fell in love with Plant Science. I love knowing the potential of a tree or shrub. I love knowing how to make a space flow and how to soften it with plants and intimate lighting. There's nothing better than imagining a space and seeing it come to fruition, especially for a homeowner who apricates you every step of the way. I started working for Helmi's Gardens when I was still in college and as soon as I gradated I became the first full-time, lead designer. Everyday is different and every job comes with new challenges. You'll find me on site with all of my guys, digging holes, setting boulders, and installing the lighting. It's truly what I'm good at and was raised to do, I love everyday of it.
