About Carly Dwyer

I am an Honours Bachelor of Interior Design graduate from the CIDA accredited institute, Conestoga College. I recently relocated to British Columbia and am seeking full-time interior design position.I am someone who thrives in the learning environment and is always motivated to learn new things. Prior to my Interior Design education, I studied in the Honours Mathematics and Computer Science program at Wilfrid Laurier. During my studies at Wilfrid Laurier, my family dealt with the tremendous loss of my uncle. He was someone who always inspired me to live life to the fullest and in losing him I came to the realization that I was not doing this. I had a passion that I was not pursuing and it was time for me to move towards it and stop wasting precious time. My design philosophy is largely shaped by this idea of enjoying life and flourishing in your environment. I believe that as designers, it is our responsibility to create spaces that people can grow in. In my final research paper, I found that the use of brighter and bolder colours stimulates creative thinking. I believe that the incorporation of these strong pigments can create much more lively and enjoyable spaces. My goal is to create designs the improve peoples lives and motivate them to be the best they can be.Through my work experience, I have developed strong skills in communicating with customers and problem solving. In work and school I often assume leadership roles. In my work experiences I have been promoted to supervisor roles, and in school I have often been known to take lead of organizing group projects. I am a highly motivated individual with large aspirations and a keen eye for details.
