About Carmel Rawhani

With over five years of experience in urban public policy and research, I am passionate about advancing sustainable development finance and addressing complex global challenges. As an Implementation Consultant at KfW, I support clients in executing international development cooperation projects in sectors such as energy, water, finance, and violence prevention, with a focus on relationship management and stakeholder engagement. In addition to my consulting role, I am also a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of the Witwatersrand, where I co-edit a book on urban transformation and governance in Africa, building on my postdoctoral research and publications. I have a Master's Degree in Management and Public Policy Analysis, an Honours in International Relations, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Arabic Language and Literature, with multiple class medals for academic excellence. I also have skills in new business development, relationship management, and managing research as well as communicating learnings internally.
