About Carmen Beddow

I grew up in the Midwest and have worked at Mayo Clinic for the past nearly15 years, providing specialized customer service to members. I was instrumental in aiding in the development of the first Telephonic Tobacco Cessation Counseling program at Mayo Clinic. I then helped pioneer the Wellness Coach program in Stress Management, Exercise, Nutrition, Weight Management, and Tobacco Cessation. I have a Master's Degree in Community Counseling, and I am currently certified through Mayo Clinic as a Wellness Coach. In my current position, I collaborated with other Mayo Clinic staff to write the standards of procedures orientation manual and train new employees. I have an undergraduate degree in Business, but was drawn to coaching through a Women's Entrepreneurial Program I was involved with through the Small Business Administration. My main skills include the following: Customer or Patient Centered Analytical Thinker and Decision Maker Interpersonal Communicator Team Builder and Staff Developer Personal Initiative and Integrity Besides continuing my role as a Wellness Coach, I think I would be a good fit as a psychometrist to provide direct evaluation testing to patients. I am always open to new learning opportunities and am also interested in meeting the needs of the aging population, either through research or patient education.
