About Carmen Curry

I'm a recent grad in Environmental Science at Virginia tech with minors in Wetland Science and GIS, with extensive experience in government work. For my high school capstone project, I spearheaded a wild rice experiment in which I set up indoor water tanks with overhead lights to successfully grow wild rice in a controlled environment. I conceived, designed and executed the project to success. I was on the soil judging team at Virginia Tech for three years and I've learned many techniques concerning the identification of soil composition. I have a lot of experience texturing soil and analyzing soil profiles. My coursework has included a solid foundation in GIS, soil science, water science, and plant biology, with the relation between soil, water and technology being a special focus of mine. The many experiences I've had so far have given me my strongest skills in being able to function as an individual and as a member of a team, technology of all kinds and applications, the willingness to never stop learning and improving upon myself, and the self-motivation to craft and direct projects of my own invention.
