About Carmen Dolea

Physician and public health specialist with extensive experience in global public health. Currently managing a team working on the implementation of and compliance with International Health Regulations requirements to avoid international spread of diseases. After 6 years of clinical and public health work in Romania, I joined WHO in 2001, working with Ministries of Health in developing countries, as well as bilateral and multilateral agencies, academia and civil society organizations, to develop and support implementation of health workforce policies, and to promote aid effectiveness principles. Since November 2015, working with the International Health Regulations Secretariat at WHO on implementation of IHR, Emergency Committees and travel health. Strong analytical skills, strategic thinking, diplomatic and tactful, practical and outcome oriented, I strive on challenging situations, and enjoy working in multicultural teams. Interested in the adaption of business models to global health and development, including cross-sector partnerships, and accountability for results.
