About Carmen Lawrence

I am a Masters prepared nurse with over 25 years of experience in the Health and Education Sector. I have extensive experience in mental health intervention, consultation, and project management; including, leading workplace wellness and development of organizational policies and practices that promote mental health and well-being.I am passionate about community development both professionally and personally, volunteering in my own Neighbourhood and city to build healthy neighborhoods where all citizens can contribute and flourish. I apply a population public health approach, activating upstream strategies for substance use prevention and health promotion. I competently analyze research evidence and apply it to my work. I am a team player and self motivated. I am a strategic planner and problem solver, able to work in complex environments. I have led large time sensitive health initiatives and budgets, upholding my values of kindness and collaboration with multiple partners locally and provincially. communication is a strength, building project plans, authoring a provincial framework for psychosocial disaster recovery in schools, and contributing to the development of content for a neurorelational framework for mental health. I love to laugh and enjoy the people that I work alongside.
