Carol Evans joined SHARE Cancer Support as CEO and Executive Director in 2019. SHARE serves women with breast, ovarian, uterine/endometrial, cervical, and metastatic breast cancer with Helplines in multiple languages, virtual support groups, webinars, and peer connections with survivors. SHARE provides outreach and programs directly to medically underserved communities. LatinaSHARE, Black Ambassadors, and ChineseSHARE provide outreach to communities in need. In June 2021 SHARE launched Getting Our Fair SHARE: Conference to End Health Disparities with the Workstream on Patient Navigation launching in 2022. SHARE Research launched in 2021 with Older Women and Breast Cancer, a study of breast cancer patients. Carol served as the CEO and President of Working Mother Media (WMM)(2001-2015) which she founded by acquiring Working Mother magazine, becoming the first woman (and mother) to own this iconic brand. Carol had launched Working Mother magazine in 1978 for a major publishing company and led its growth for a decade. In 1986 Carol created the Working Mother 100 Best Companies, which is still the most important benchmark of corporate support of women. In 2002 Carol launched the Best Companies for Multicultural Women, followed by the Best Law Firms for Women, NAFE Top Companies for Executive Women, and Best Companies for Hourly Workers. She has appeared on every major TV network sharing data, best practices, and advice. In 2006, Carol expanded WMM’s mission by acquiring Diversity Best Practices (DBP), and launching the Global Advancement of Women Conferences, holding events in South Africa, Brazil, Canada, India, and China. She sold WMM to Bonnier Corp in 2008, remaining as President for seven years. In 2015 she left Working Mother Media to work on Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign as Co-Founder of Executive Women for Hillary. As COO of Chief Executive Group,(1996-2001) Carol created magazines and conferences for Fortune 500 CEOs. As president of Stagebill,(1989-1996) Carol published programs for 110 performing arts organizations nationwide, including the Met Opera, Carnegie Hall, and Kennedy Center. Carol's award-winning book, This is How We Do It: The Working Mother’s Manifesto celebrates working mothers and helps them reframe their most difficult challenges.
