Carol is an experienced corporate/transactional/regulatory healthcare attorney with additional experience as a corporate Compliance and Privacy Officer. She has represented for-profit and non-profit providers, including hospitals, physicians, home health agencies, etc. She is skilled at providing practical, pragmatic advice to business executives in the healthcare industry. Her experience includes- Significant work performing analysis of various arrangements under Federal and state fraud and abuse laws and regulations including Stark, anti-kickback and CMP- Managing transactions, including acquisitions, joint ventures and mergers of health care entities- Handling all aspects of hospital, physician and vendor contracting- In-depth corporate compliance and HIPAA experience- Providing operational advice for hospitals and health systems; and - Advising telehealth programs. Carol has significant management experience of attorneys, clinicians, ancillary staff and others. She has managed budgets, including a $2M department budget. Prior to becoming an in-house counsel, Carol worked at large law firms in Atlanta, GA (Troutman Sanders and Morris, Manning and Martin).
