Background

About Carol Malope

I am a Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience in mining, both open-cast and underground. I have held positions in both engineering and production at supervisory level. 2016 was my practical training at open cast, day-to-day tasks included; co-ordination of the engineering team, maintenance, allocation of personnel and resources to tasks, budget, daily and weekly reports to senior management. 2018-2021, during this period I worked on a number of cost saving projects looking specifically at the efficiency of slurry pumps, the economical use of electricity and Rand water, all of which were successful. And Because of my enthusiasm and eagerness to learn, I single-handedly supervised a production team - we were separating gold bearing carbon from woodchips and exporting the high grade product. 2021-2022, I moved to a Tailings Process Plant (Open cast mining). I have worked on a number of projects focused on improving systems. 2023 - underground mining. I am currently in pursuit of a GCC in Mines and Works.
