About Carol Thompson

Carol has been with HeartMath for 20 years and is Director of the Health Professionals Program. She launched the Health Professionals Division in 2002, and develops programs and trains health practitioners in private practice, clinics and hospitals. Over the past 10 years she has provided training in HeartMath technologies, techniques and applications to organizations in the US, Canada and Mexico. She has provided workshops and trained clients including University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC; Loma Linda Children's Hospital, Loma Linda, CA; Calgary Health Region, Alberta, Canada; and ZoneDiet Mexico, Guadalajara, Mexico. In 2005 and 2006 she was co-presenter with Dr. Tony Hughes, psychologist and biofeedback trainer, in one day HeartMath workshops for health professionals around the US. Over 300 health professionals in private practice, clinics, hospitals, government, and military facilities learned how to add the technologies to their clinical practice. For the past eight years she has worked with VA Medical Centers and military facilities using the HeartMath technologies with troops returning from combat with stress, anxiety and other psychological and physical symptoms. All four branches of the military and the National Guard are using the technologies for Post Traumatic Stress disorder, Traumatic Brain Injury, and other injuries. Carol graduated from University of California, Berkeley, where she was an honors student, and has a B.A. in Anthropology. She also has a Certificate in Environment Planning from University of California, Davis. She currently enjoys outdoor recreational activities, including hiking, bicycling, running, swimming, and snorkeling.
