Studying and analysing scientific and technical documents, including patent documents, to assess patentability. ° Drafting patent applications and handling prosecution (payment of fees, office actions) and oppositions. ° Implementation of patent protection for business entities. ° Providing surveillance profiles and third party patent reviews for specific technical areas informing on competitive barriers in order to react on rights that could limit freedom to operate. ° Coordinating with internal and external advisers and instructs external service providers (payment of fees, office actions, searches). ° Participation in managing patent conflicts and litigations. ° Participation in implementing gratuity and remuneration processes. ° Participation in key projects and Patent Steering Committee with the emphasis being on leveraging the IP position to the benefit of R&D and commercial objectives, and advises on protection and infringement risks. ° Support and execution of patent strategies and IP protection plans for key R&D projects within the respective businesses. ° Support in negotiations with third parties and setting up contracts and agreements. ° Training of employees on basic Intellectual Property and informing on legal developments, which may affect patent policy. ° Communication and interface with other disciplines and departments. ° Participation in setting up and implementing work processes related to IP. ° Responsible for keeping up to date with legal developments in the IP field.
