About Carole Feist

I earned an MA in Clinical Counseling from Valparaiso University, a BS in Health Sciences from Indiana University, along with a certificates in Trauma-Informed Care (Valparaiso University) and Rehabilitation and Disability Studies (Indiana University). I currently approach therapy with elements of person-centered therapy, reality/choice theory, existential therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy. Additionally, I have therapeutic interests and some knowledge in EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing), polyvagal theory, internal family systems therapy, therapeutic yoga, trauma-informed approaches, and more. I enjoy working with a broad spectrum of clients and issues. I love seeing clients challenge themselves, put in effort to help themselves, and have the courage to look at and see themselves with honesty and curiosity. I continuously work to expand my tools, techniques, and modalities via trainings, conferences, reading, consulting, etc. Recognizing how trauma affects people in various ways, I use EMDR, DBT, IFS, yoga, and mindfulness. I believe that the mind, body, and spirit all impact each other, and often incorporate elements of physical well-being for clients who are open to incorporating a more holistic approach to their mental health. I strive to facilitate the creation of a safe space for clients to be able to freely express and explore themselves, find their own power and authority, and provide knowledge and tools to address issues and goals.
