About Carolin Mayer
One thing that drives me are pollinators. Their often ambiguous relationship with plants is an absolutely fascinating one making me curious. Of course, I feel the need to protect and promote pollinators, since I believe that they are absolutely necessary for life on this planet. The now common notion that they provide an „ecosystem service“gives credit to their pivotal role. I contributed to pollinator – and implicitly nature – conservation by doing research myself. But also by creating a journal on pollination (see below, the Journal of Pollination Ecology) providing a platform for others to publish their findings. I am happy to continue to be connected to science and researchers now working as scientific manager for the ILEE at Namur!
