Background

About Caroline Cosgrove

I am a Child and Adolescent Counsellor nearing the completion of my MA in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy at Terapia, London, with plans to qualify as a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist later this year (2025). As a trainee therapist, I have gained over 400 clinical hours working with a wide range of issues, including low mood, anxiety, bereavement, suicidal ideation, relationship difficulties, emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA), bullying, eating disorders, self-harm, neurodiversity, and trauma. My approach is integrative, relational, and embodied, blending traditional talking therapy with contemporary body-centered techniques. I strive to create a compassionate, non-judgmental space where clients feel safe to explore their challenges, gain insights, and build resilience and self-confidence. Sessions may include conversation, art, imagery, sand tray work, movement, mindfulness, sound, and play. I also have experience in reflective parenting, group therapy, and working with adults. A particular area of interest is emotion regulation, which I believe is fundamental to addressing mental health challenges, school attendance issues, social difficulties, and behavioral concerns.
