About Caroline Dew

Hi there! My name is Caroline Dew. I'm a 2025 Juris Doctor candidate at the University of Louisville, Brandeis School of Law. After getting my history degree in 2022, I knew I had to continue my education. I was over the moon to be accepted into Brandeis, but had no idea what I was doing as a first-generation law student. Fortunately, I quickly found my footing and became involved in several school organizations - including helping found the Student Health Law Association. I now act as the SHLA treasurer, and have also successfully campaigned for the Historian position for the '23-'24 Brandeis Student Bar Association. During my 1L year I focused on Plaintiff's-side personal injury litigation, clerking for the accomplished Louisville-based attorney, Michael Schafer. I was given the opportunity to draft pleadings, interact with clients, and see the reality of personal injury litigation. I've continued working under the mentorship of Mike through my 2L and 3L year and love the PI field and civil litigation. I have also worked pro-bono for the Paducah branch of Kentucky Legal Aid. During this time, I worked on expungement and a divorce clinic. I'm always a student, so if you have anything to teach me, connect!
