About Caroline Donaldson

I am an experienced and qualified senior executive coach and facilitator of senior teams and until recently, a non executive director on a charity board. I am currently enjoying the CSTD supervision diploma so I can be an accredited supervisor for coaches on their journey. My background combines over 30 years of consultancy, various senior management positions at Granada Group including personnel, training, sales and regional management and at Mothercare plc where I progressed from a graduate trainee to Store Manager. Having spent several years helping organisations improve their business results through their people, I became more focused on executive development, developing personal awareness and insight from gestalt psychology, as well as working as a freelance coach for InsideOut. Some of my clients include Centrica, The Tavistock Institute, NHS, Oracle, KPMG, British Heart Foundation, Parsons Brinckerhoff, Aker Kvaerner, DeBeers, WSP, CGI, public sector bodies such as SEPA and Historic Environment Scotland, Insights and Jacobs. I am a member of the CBI Scotland Council, SCDI Executive, Institute of Directors, EMCC, CIPD, and have worked with over 250 organisations. Having been a non-executive board member on boards has provided me with great hands-on experience which I can bring to my board skills and NED development work. I qualified from Glasgow University with an MA degree and post-graduate IPM qualification. Currently, I am coaching 20+ senior executives across a variety of organisations in private, public and voluntary sectors. Other recent projects include the design of mentoring programmes for high potential senior executives in a major plc, executive team workshops, a board shadowing initiative for women and support for culture change in an international engineering consultancy. I have also just completed a contract being a coach and WAL (Women as Leaders) tutor with RTC Leadership and Coaching (part of the In Touch group) and recently became an associate with Merlin Consultancy. In addition, I run boardroom workshops with the IoD (Institute of Directors), organise senior women networking dinners, discussions and mentoring to help shift the diversity balance in Boards - a very hot topic at the moment!
