About Caroline Doyle

Senior Lecturer at UNSW Canberra specialising in criminal justice policy, post-release support and evidence-based crime prevention. My research translates the lived experiences of people impacted by the justice system into practical policies and programmes that reduce recidivism and support successful reintegration. As former President of Prisoners Aid (ACT), I have led initiatives improving detainee wellbeing, advised government and NGOs on policy reform and designed programmes that strengthen pathways from incarceration to community reintegration. I also research crime and violence in Latin America and the Caribbean, publishing work that challenges conventional assumptions and informs local and international policy debates. My research has appeared in top-tier journals and been featured in ABC Radio, ABC News, SBS News, The Conversation and the Australian Institute of International Affairs. I hold a PhD from UNSW, an LLB (Hons) from the University of Canberra and a BA from the University of Wollongong. I am admitted as a solicitor in the ACT and bring over ten years of experience teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses in business, law and policy. I also served as Postgraduate Coordinator for UNSW Canberra’s School of Business.
