Background
About Caroline Sharples
An experienced university lecturer and a published historian in the field of twentieth-century German history. My research centres upon memories of National Socialism and representations of the Holocaust. I am currently working on a major study of perpetrator deaths and commemoration, writing a cultural history of the death of Adolf Hitler, and producing a study of the execution (and disposal) of major Nazi war criminals after the Second World War. I have teaching responsibilities at undergraduate and postgraduate level, including modules on historiography, the Holocaust and the careers-focussed "Applied Humanities". I'm interested in issues around graduate employability and placement opportunities for current students. I'm also looking to hear alumni success stories!
