Background
About Carras Callihan
As a third-year student at the University of Colorado Boulder majoring in Environmental Studies graduating May 2025, I am passionate about the intersection of public policy, environmental sustainability, and agriculture. I grew up in a three generational Greek-American household. My Papou (Greek for “Grandpa”) was a chef and taught me the importance of cooking culturally significant foods at a young age. I hope to continue his legacy by advocating for agriculture and supporting producers. I want to sustainable food systems and consumer education about agriculture. My academic focus extends to international agriculture, where I aim to understand how global food systems can be improved to promote sustainability and food security. Currently, I am gaining valuable experience as a Public Policy Intern with the Colorado Farm Bureau, where I contribute to advocacy efforts and research on policy issues that impact agriculture in Colorado. This role has strengthened my ability to analyze policies and understand the complexities of agriculture within the context of environmental and social challenges.
