Colorado Mountain College hired me in May 2014 to be its assistant public information officer writing releases, researching and editing communications, and collaborating with colleagues to coordinate media outreach for all 11 of CMC's mountain-town locations. In March 2022, the college promoted me to be its public information manager in its media relations office, overseeing collegewide day-to-day media interactions and continuing my work writing and providing communications. In addition, I am earning my masters's degree in communications at Regis University, which currently doesn't leave me time for freelance writing and editing projects. Specialties: Education, Colorado, emergency preparedness (Basic Public Information Officer, Basic Incident Command System certified), outdoor industry/recreation (particularly skiing and river running), environmental issues, people profiles, community interactions, business, health, animals (particularly dogs, horses and camels) and animal rescue.
