About Carrie Lampert

A junior at Tufts University, I am pursuing a dual degree with a Bachelor of Arts in Biopsychology and a Bachelor of Science in Child Studies & Human Development. My academic journey includes a broad range of coursework, covering topics such as General Physiology, Emotion, and Child Mental Health in Educational Settings. I've been drawn to psychology and medicine from an early age. I find the interplay between the brain, behavior, and emotions fascinating, and I love studying how nature and nurture shape us as individuals. My courses in Child Studies have added another layer to this, allowing me to explore how these factors affect children's mental health in educational settings. My passion for Biopsychology and Child Studies extends beyond the classroom. I spent the summer of 2023 engaged in two enriching internships at Matter Health and the UIC Roitman Decision Making Lab. I was chosen as one of five from over 400 applications at MATTER Health to support the partnerships and innovation team. Our mission is to catalyze healthcare advancements through innovative challenges. I am excited to be part of the team as it prepares to launch a women’s health program,"51 Labs." At the UIC Roitman Decision Making Lab, I serve as a research assistant, working hands-on with rodent models and using sophisticated tools like Excel and Matlab for data analysis. Here, I'm immersing myself in neuroscience research and gaining invaluable practical experience that aligns with my academic focus. On campus, I volunteer with the Strong Women Strong Girls organization, teaching third and fourth-graders about leadership and perseverance.
