About Carrie Vaughn

I have 15 years of experience in Pharmaceuticals (API Mfg. & Commercial Product) and 11 years of experience in Nutraceuticals. The focus of the first part of my career was in Quality Control at Nutra Mfg. in Greenville, SC and Anderson, SC. where I began as a Chemist. Many opportunities to grow presented themselves, such as Method Development and Validation under the Senior Scientist, Administrator on laboratory software programs including LIMS, client/server networks for equipment, and many others. I eventually became the QC Manager of raw materials and final product. My laboratory experience includes HPLC (PDA, UV, VWD, RI, ELSD), GC (PP, COC, SSP, TCD, FID), ICP, ICP-MS, CE, UV-VIS Spectroscopy, FTIR, TOC, Dissolution, Disintegration, Titration, Moisture Analysis (HMA, Karl Fischer), and other bench techniques. I am currently a Metrologist II at a DEA regulated site where I support laboratory equipment for multiple departments, such as, QC Analytical Chemistry, Analytical Development, and Product Development. The role of Metrology is to ensure all equipment remains in a GMP compliant state from procurement to retirement. We manage/perform repairs, preventative maintenance, and requalifications both in-house and with external vendors.
