About Carson I.

I am originally from Chicago IL. I attended college at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities where I received a BS in chemistry. During my time at school I regularly volunteered with various organizations, and took an interest in polymers. I spent three years working as a technical aide at 3M headquarters in their Critical, Chronic Care Solutions Division. I accepted an offer from Cargill my senior year and a few weeks after graduation moved to Omaha, NE to begin work as a Food, Safety, Quality, and Regulatory (FSQR) Chemist in Cargill's Lactic Acid Division. That plant produces lactic acid for our customer who then turns it into biodegradable polymer for use in products across various markets. In 2016 I accepted a role at another one of Cargill's Corn Milling plants in Fort Dodge, IA, working specifically with instrumentation and quality reporting systems. During my time in this role I found a passion for Data Management Systems with a focus on database management and end-user reporting. I developed and managed all automated reporting for our site as well as developed and optimized new tools and systems which increased site efficiency and captured value for our business. In 2018 I moved to Cargill Headquarters to begin a new position as a Data and Systems Analyst. In this role I take a systematic approach to optimizing existing systems as well as finding new and innovative opportunities for my company. Big Data and related sectors are a big focus across all industries and are changing all the time. With this in mind I seek out scalable, sustainable solutions for root causes in our business to help drive value and minimize administration requirements.
