About Carson Keene

As an experienced social worker and educator I have worked with youth, adults and families in crisis in numerous settings including rural Vermont, the desert of Utah, and in Portland Public Schools. Through my longest and current career as a teacher, I have experienced first-hand the effects that mental health struggles and diagnoses (including addiction) have on so many young people and their families. I have over a decade of experience working with students and their families to identify and access additional social, educational and health supports that allow students to be fully engaged in their education. I’m uniquely skilled in developing personal relationships with individuals so that they feel safe, supported and heard. I work on a multi-disciplinary team of educators, psychologists, speech therapists, special education educators, support staff, administrators and others in the community. I have strong multi-tasking and organizational skills, high motivation, and am very comfortable working on a multi-disciplinary team.
