About Carson Matirne

I am a Camp Teacher at Clearwater Marine Aquarium, where I share my passion for biology and wildlife conservation with children of various ages and backgrounds. I have a Bachelor's degree in Biology/Biological Sciences from Louisiana State University, where I gained a solid foundation in various biological disciplines, such as herpetology, ornithology, ichthyology, and entomology. Before joining Clearwater Marine Aquarium, I worked as a Naturalist at Saint Christopher Camp Conference, where I taught students from 1st to 12th grade in hands-on environmental-focused classes on beach, maritime forest, and salt marsh ecology. I also handled reptiles and amphibians to facilitate public interaction with the animal ambassadors, and contributed to the maintenance and improvement of the camp facilities and trails. I enjoy working with diverse and enthusiastic teams that are dedicated to inspiring and empowering the next generation of environmental stewards and wildlife advocates. I believe that I can bring a unique perspective and experience to any organization that values biology education and conservation.
